Nose
Freshly wet earth, autumn leaves, clay, chocolate, minerals and sweetly spiced tobacco smoke are clean, complex, and infinitely deep aromas.
Taste
The flavors echo the aromas with similar depth and richness. The texture has turned silky and weighty on the palate as concentrated mineral and spice notes are almost creamy in their concentration. Incredibly fresh and easy to sip endlessly.
Method/Background
Rey Campero is artisanally produced featuring in ground cooking for up to 5 days, followed by cooling and resting up to one week. Cooked agaves are crushed by a tahona and open air fermented with natural ambient yeasts for up to 12 days before double distillation in small copper pot stills.
