Nose
Wow! It’s almost like being in a kitchen or a market in Mexico with chili peppers and masa on the nose. I could easily just smell this all day!
Taste
Light on the palate and very subtle with the flavor profile at first but then becomes very green and peppery, almost like red hots. Initially that overwhelmed my palate and made it difficult to grasp on to most of those peppery flavors but with continuous sips, the maximilliana agave profile parts its way through the conversation and the finish opens up to a tamarind covered peppermint candy. Very complex distillate but I’m not sure it would turn new-to-raicilla drinkers off. If anything, they may enjoy the uniqueness of this tasty distillate.
Production details

Background
With over twenty five years of experience in the agave distillate industry as an importer and brand owner, Juan Pablo of Tequila Specialists launched Puntagave to express the distilled flavors of Mexico. Each with depth of flavor and character but still very approachable for those who are just venturing outside of the world of tequila.
