Background
The entire Mezcalero series is amazing because it’s the confluence of traditional batch distilling and an exceptional buyer in Ansley Coale. In the video of his tasting notes he calls this the “best tobala in a bottle” which is high praise coming from a man of his palate.
Tasting Notes
I get elegant notes of fresh agave sweetness on the nose and an incredibly focused flavor. The maestro mezcalero Don Rodolfo Juan Juarez must have an exceptionally light touch because there’s a very light body that carries a bracing herbal freshness and almost effervescent minerality that really lights up my palate. There’s nothing to weigh this mezcal down – it has a light lingering flavor that doesn’t stand in the way of another mezcal or bite to eat.
