From the heart of Oaxaca comes Mezcal Güey, an artisanal spirit that is as bold as its creator. Eleuterio García Martínez, a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero and former U.S. rodeo bull rider, has carried on his family’s mezcal-making tradition, producing this exceptional micro-batch spirit.
The Mezcal Güey Ensemble blends 70% Espadín with 30% Cuishe agave, offering a refined, smooth profile featuring less smoke, more sweetness, and lots of citrusy and earthy undertones. The production process is rooted in tradition, utilizing only fully mature magueys, farmed Espadín aged for at least 8 years, and wild Cuishe maguey aged between 12 and 20 years. Each batch undergoes roasting in earth pit ovens, fermentation with wild yeast, and double distillation in copper stills, resulting in a mezcal that’s pure, complex, and made for a new generation of Mezcal worshipers.
Whether enjoyed neat, in cocktails, or as a shot, Mezcal Güey is a celebration of Oaxacan heritage, crafted for those who appreciate authenticity and like to share good stuff.
