This bottle is a project led by Clayton Szczech to bring talented distillers who are making incredible destilados de agave to the attention of the wider universe. In this case Alfredo Ríos Landeros works outside of the certified tequila zone but makes a spirit that is historically and structurally within the tequila idea – it’s made from blue agave using traditional techniques just outside of the currently legal tequila zone but well within the historical production area.
