Don Aureliano Hernández Martínez is the oldest son of Don Cosme Hernández. The family has been making mezcal for five generations in San Baltazar Guelavila and Sola la Vega zones. Gente de Mezcal uses oak for the cooking of the piñas in the earthen pits and fermentation takes place in oak vats.
