Background Notes
Convite has been around for quite some time. It is a Oaxacan owned brand with offices right in the centro just steps from Gozobi where it’s the house mezcal. Convite’s bottle design really jumps out because it’s squat and round which was designed to evoke the black clay containers where mezcal was traditionally stored. It’s easy to miss but every bottle has a wrap around illustration which depicts the story of the mezcal from the agaves growing in the fields, through the mezcalero making the mezcal and onto celebratory figures and the bars in NYC. If you look closely, there is even a tribute to the twin towers tucked into the far right corner.
