Background Notes
Ángel Cruz Calvo is 86 and still hand mashing some of his own production. That level of experience informs everything about this mezcal: It is a deep pool of sensations and flavors unique in mezcals. It is also an expression of the amazing clay pot distillation tradition in the Sola de Vega area. This is the sort of bottle that you want to save as a marker of what is possible in spirits.
