The Lost Explorer Mezcal

Founded by David de Rothschild, the mezcal is produced in San Pablo Huixtepec, Oaxaca by mezcalero Fortino Ramos who has an ownership stake in the business, with his daughter Xitlali.

The brand has a huge focus on sustainability and has partnered with with the global charity, Voice For Nature Foundation, to support projects that will have an immediate impact in Oaxacan communities this year. These projects will help advance local organizations’ efforts to combat climate change and its effects on access to clean water; support gender equality and female empowerment amongst underserved indigenous communities in Oaxaca; and help create access to equitable work opportunities through the sharing of sustainable ancestral knowledge and skills.

The brand has also adopted several environmental initiatives including a focus on climate and energy (solar panels, carbon footprint tracking, bioclimate study), regenerative agriculture (biodiversity practices), supply chain excellence and community building.
