Mal de Amor is produced by the Zapotec Hernandez brothers in Santiago Matatlan. It is a family and producer owned brand.

If you have ever traveled to Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, you have driven by this family owned palenque. Due to their partnership with Ilegal Mezcal, the palenque has expanded over the years and now includes not only the distillery and agave fields but also a store and restaurant. They also offer tours.
