Nose
Leather funk! Like opening a can of salted anchovies – easily one of the most distinctive aromas on a mezcal that I’ve smelled in a while.
Taste
It’s your own mini-tapas meal. This is an incredibly savory mezcal with a backbone of roasted agave but the main flavors are a melange of smoked trout and jamon iberico with a touch of oregano.
Background notes
Mezcal made from Sacatoro is rarely seen anywhere, least of all in the United States.
