Background Notes
Pedro Vasquez has an almost cult-like following for his complex and richly flavored mezcals, including some of the heavy hitters like Arroqueño for the Jolgorio line. His remote ranch is at an extremely high elevation of nearly 7,500 feet above sea level where he works with wild and cultivated agaves. The magic of his mezcal starts in the complexity of the agaves grown in this microregion, coupled with his decades of experience and the characteristic distillation style of Miahuatlan.
