Mezcal & Salsa Night: F*ck the Wall, Let’s Build a Library – London

March 18 @ 2:00 pm

Don’t you hate to wake up with drool on your pillow, a terrible hangover, and your conscience cringing at your own drunken foolishness? What if on a night out you did something so amazing that it immediately cancels out all moral responsibility? And you did so by drinking a spirit that is famous for not giving you hangovers?
Well, at the Mezcal & Salsa Night you’re going to drink, you’re going to dance, and you’re also going to build a library. Goodbye guilt and hangover. Hello mezcal and salsa.

The Mezcal & Salsa Night is a charity concert, organised to raise funds for the “El Rosario” Community Library in Oaxaca, Mexico. The completion of the library, achievable only through raising more funds, would enable hundreds of people from the local community to access knowledge, music and culture, something not very common in the more remote regions of Mexico. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the completion of “El Rosario”.

It’ll be an evening of many delights, starting with The Son Collective, a Latin and Afrocuban Ensemble who will play some salsa and latin beats, and will be followed by more dance music for the afterparty. A main attraction of the night will be Mezcal, Tequila’s friendlier, tastier older brother, which will be sold for fundraising, as well as homemade Guacamole. If mezcal isn’t your thing, the Dogstar Brixton’s bar will be open to the audience, and if dancing salsa isn’t either, then come for the good cause, the great live music and the afterparty!

The Mexican culture and economy are sadly very affected by the hateful rhetoric of an orange-faced twat in the White House, so what better time to help Mexico than when it’s people are most in need of foreign friends!

See you on the 17th of March at The Dogstar!
